Hard Wax vs Strip Wax for Intimate Areas
Waxing terminology can be confusing. Does the therapist use strips or peel the wax off manually? Learn the critical differences in pain, hygiene, and hair removal efficacy between Hard and Soft wax.
Skin tearing and extreme pain usually occur when a therapist uses Soft Strip Wax on delicate, loose skin (like the bikini area). Soft wax adheres aggressively to the top layer of skin, not just the hair.
We use a hybrid approach based on the body part. For large, flat areas (like legs and backs) we use premium Soft Strip Wax for speed. For the face, underarms, and all intimate areas, we exclusively use premium low-temperature Hard Wax to ensure zero skin trauma.

How Galeo Guides This Journey
Every concern needs a thoughtful treatment path. We use consultation, skin or treatment assessment, and realistic planning to guide clients toward the most suitable next step.
How Soft (Strip) Wax Works
Soft wax is spread thinly, a cloth strip is pressed over it, and it is ripped off. It is incredibly fast and efficient for removing fine hair over large zones like the legs. However, it sticks strongly to the skin, meaning it cannot be applied over the same area twice without risking tearing or bruising.
How Hard (Hot) Wax Works
Hard wax is applied thicker and allowed to cool. As it cools, it 'shrink-wraps' around the hair, completely ignoring the skin beneath. The therapist then peels the wax itself off. It is the absolute gold standard for Brazilian, Hollywood, and facial waxing.
The Pain Difference
Because Hard Wax only grips the hair and not the skin, it is significantly less painful for intimate areas. It also allows the therapist to safely go over a stubborn patch a second time without worrying about skin lifts or burns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hard Wax hot enough to burn me?
No. We use premium low-temperature hard waxes. They melt at lower temperatures, meaning they feel pleasantly warm when applied to the skin, never hot enough to burn.
Do you double-dip the spatulas?
Absolutely never. We maintain strict clinical hygiene standards. A wooden spatula is dipped into the wax pot once, applied to your skin, and immediately thrown into the bin. A fresh spatula is used for every single dip across your entire treatment.
How long should my hair be?
For Hard Wax to grip perfectly, the hair needs to be about the length of a grain of rice, which is usually 2-3 weeks of growth after shaving.
