How To Choose The Right Facial
The right facial depends on your main skin concern. This guide matches common concerns to the facials on our menu and explains what to do if you are not sure where to start.

How To Choose The Right Facial: what to consider
Start with your main concern
Most facials are built around one goal: clearing congestion, calming sensitivity, adding hydration, brightening, or firming. Picking a facial by name or price alone often means it does not match what your skin needs. Decide what bothers you most, then choose the facial designed for it.
Matching concerns to facials
- Breakouts, blackheads or congestion. Dermalogica Pro Clear is designed for breakout-prone and congested skin, and the QMS Deep Pore Cleansing Facial focuses on clearing pores.
- Sensitive, red or reactive skin. Pro Calm and the QMS Sensitive Skin Facial are gentle options made for reactive skin.
- Dry, tight or dehydrated skin. Hydraderm cleanses, extracts and hydrates in one treatment.
- Dullness or uneven tone. Pro Bright targets dullness and uneven tone, and Luminfusion focuses on glow.
- Fine lines and loss of firmness. Pro Firm and the QMS Collagen Facial focus on firmness.
If you are not sure
Book a Pro Skin Treatment, or the shorter Pro Skin 30. Both are customised on the day after your therapist looks at your skin, so you get a treatment that fits, plus a recommendation for next time.
A few practical tips
- Tell your therapist about any products you use, especially retinoids or acids, and any skin conditions.
- Avoid waxing, peels or strong exfoliation on your face for a few days before a facial.
- Facials designed for deeper resurfacing, such as peels or microneedling, usually need a skin check first and are not ideal right before an event.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I am not sure which facial I need?
Book a Dermalogica Pro Skin Treatment or the shorter Pro Skin 30. Both are customised on the day after your therapist looks at your skin, and they can recommend a more targeted facial next time.
How often should I have a facial?
Many people book roughly once a month because skin renews itself over about four weeks, but it depends on your skin and goals. Your therapist can suggest a schedule after your first visit.
What is the difference between Dermalogica and QMS facials?
They are two professional skin care brands with their own treatment ranges. Both are on our menu; the facial's purpose matters more than the brand when choosing.
