Before your appointment

After your appointment
- Expect swelling, tenderness and sometimes bruising for a few days. The final shape shows once the swelling settles, usually within about two weeks.
- For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, saunas and heat, and try not to press on or massage your lips unless the doctor tells you to.
- Seek urgent medical help for severe or increasing pain, skin turning pale, grey or blue, or any vision changes.
How long will it last?
Lip filler usually lasts about 6 to 18 months. Lips move a lot, so filler there can fade faster than in other areas, and it may fade sooner in younger people. A top-up is needed to maintain the result.
