What is the difference between rubber base gel and standard gel polish?
Standard gel polish is a thin color coating that offers minimal structural support. Rubber base gel is a thicker, highly flexible polymer that bends with your natural nail plate rather than cracking under pressure, making it ideal for weak, brittle, or bendy nails.
How often should I get a rubber base fill?
We recommend booking a rubber base fill every 2 to 3 weeks. Waiting longer causes the structural support (apex) to move too far down the nail plate, increasing the risk of painful breaks or lifting.
Can I change my gel polish color during a rubber base fill?
Yes, absolutely! During your refill, we gently file away the existing top coat and gel color layer down to the clear or nude rubber base layer. Once prepped and refilled, any new gel polish shade or nail art can be applied on top.
Is a rubber base fill better than soaking off and applying a full new set?
