Classic vs Volume Eyelash Extensions
Choosing the right lash style depends on your natural lash health and the look you want to achieve. Let's break down the differences between Classic, Hybrid, and Volume lash techniques.
Lash terminology can be confusing. To protect your natural lashes, the extension applied must match what your natural lash can safely carry. Different techniques offer different levels of density.
We always consult with you first, assessing your natural lash strength. If you have strong lashes and want density, we build Volume fans. If you want a mascara look, we use Classic 1:1 application.

How Galeo Guides This Journey
Every concern needs a thoughtful treatment path. We use consultation, skin or treatment assessment, and realistic planning to guide clients toward the most suitable next step.
Classic Lashes: The Natural Enhancement
Classic eyelash extensions utilize a strict 1:1 application ratio—one individual synthetic fibre is meticulously bonded to one isolated natural lash. This is a linear enhancement; it does not add density or "fill gaps," it merely extends the length and intensifies the pigment of the lashes you already possess.
Biologically, Classic lashes are ideal for clients with a thick natural lash line. If you have 100 natural lashes per eye, we can apply 100 extensions. However, if you have sparse lashes with large gaps, Classic lashes will actually emphasize those gaps by making the existing hairs longer and further apart. For these clients, we must move into the physics of Volume fans.
Volume Lashes: Density and Fluff
Volume lashes (often termed Russian Volume) represent a sophisticated engineering solution to sparse natural lashes. Rather than applying a single heavy extension, we create a "fan" of 2 to 6 ultra-fine, lightweight synthetic hairs. This fan is then wrapped 360 degrees around your natural lash, creating a "locked" bond that is significantly more robust than the traditional side-bond used in Classics.
The weight of a 3D or 4D Volume fan is chemically calibrated to be lighter than a single thick Classic extension. This means we can create massive, fluffy density without overloading the hair follicle. This is the only way to achieve a "blackout" lash line for clients with genetically thin or damaged lashes.
Hybrid Lashes: The Best of Both Worlds
Hybrid lashes are a deliberate architectural mix of 50% Classic and 50% Volume fans. This technique breaks the "mannequin" uniformity of a standard set to create a shattered, wispy, and textured appearance.
This style is particularly effective for mimicking the growth pattern of natural lashes, where some hairs are naturally longer and thicker than others. It provide the darkness of a Volume set but with the defined, pointed tips of a Classic set. At Galeo Beauty, we recommend Hybrid Lashes for first-time clients who want more than a mascara look but aren't ready for the extreme density of Mega Volume.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will volume lashes ruin my natural lashes?
No. Professional Volume lashes are made with ultra-fine, lightweight fibers. A fan of 3 Volume lashes often weighs less than 1 thick Classic lash, meaning they are perfectly safe for your natural lash to carry.
How long do they last before varying in style?
All styles need a 'fill' every 2-3 weeks. Because Volume fans cover more space, they often appear 'fuller' for slightly longer as your natural lashes shed.
Can I switch from Classic to Volume at my fill?
Yes! If you book a Classic set and decide you want them fuller, we can easily transition you to a Hybrid or Volume set during your next fill appointment.
